Fat Dissolving Injection
EST Clinic is one of the few clinics that offers fat dissolving treatments in Australia. Our clinic participated in the TGA-approved clinical trial with a leading aesthetic pharmeceutical company. We offer customised body shaping treatment plans to thousands of clients. We combine injections with body treatments, providing safe, efficient and cost-effective solutions.
Fat dissolving injections are an effective, non-surgical procedure that targets and treats excessive stubborn fat. The following areas can be treated: double chin, bra bulge, arms, inner thighs, love handles and abdomen.
How does it work?
The fat dissolving solution can disrupt the cell membranes of the fat cells and destroy them permanently. Glycerol and fatty acids in the cells are then released into the surrounding subcutaneous space before being naturally absorbed by the body and then eliminated.
This procedure usually takes 30-45 minutes. A minimum of two treatments are required. In some
cases, the client may require up to four treatments.

Expectation of Results
Clients will start to notice reduction of the treated area once they complete the whole treatment, revealing a more defined and contoured shape. Particularly for the first session, this process may take 4-6 weeks. A healthy lifestyle, regular workouts and body shaping treatments will help to archive the optimal result.

FAQs
This treatment is customised to suit each patient’s individual circumstances. However, pregnancy and breastfeeding, someone with heart or liver issues or someone with an excessive amount of skin in the treatment area are not suitable candidates.
Most clients can expect to see a visible reduction in the treated area after two sessions. Just like any cosmetic injectable, it is normal to experience some discomfort, swelling and bruising. These side effects can be managed with cold compression and/or oral pain medicines.
Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.

Dr Lin is currently a consultant plastic surgeon and supervisor of training at Eastern Health Box Hill Hospital, and sits on the Clinical Committee at Epworth Eastern Private Hospital. Dr Lin is involved in the training of medical students at both Melbourne University and Monash University Medical Schools, as well as lecturing dermal sciences students at Victoria University.
